We help federal agencies put their data to work

What we do

With the support of industry experts, we help federal agencies manage data and create solutions.

The Federal Big Data Research and Development Strategic Plan outlines a vision where cooperation between the public and private sectors leads to innovation in government. It envisions real-time, diverse datasets being used to reduce traffic congestion, increase energy efficiency, and reduce fraud and waste for the American public.

Our projects involve just the type of public-private cooperation that the strategic plan imagines — improving access, discovery, and usability of government research and data.

Our process

Our process begins with you. Our team works fast, in the open, and with Joint Venture Partners. Together we’ll build a new product or service. We’ll work with you to continuously improve it until it meets your needs.

For agencies, the process looks something like this:

  1. You identify a need, and we review it. We start to identify partners.
  2. We work with you to develop objectives and evaluation criteria.
  3. We work with our partners prepare a response to the objectives and evaluation criteria. This can include oral presentations and demonstrations.
  4. We present the project to our advisory board. If approved, we notify your team and develop a project plan.
  5. Paperwork is signed, and funds are obligated. Work begins.

Do you have a project in mind? Reach out to us. We’ll respond within 24 hours.

US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS)

Challenge

Deploy infrastructure quickly and securely. Limit hassle and overhead.

Solution

With the help of Joint Venture Partners, our team provided the necessary infrastructure, services, and personnel to move the USCIS website to a new home. This work was part of a larger, multi-agency effort to simplify immigration.

Social Security Administration

Challenge

Manage, distribute, and update large datasets. Prevent fraud and abuse.

Solution

The Social Security Administration’s Death Master File is used by credit card companies and other businesses to detect fraud and abuse and determine eligibility for products and services. Distributing and updating datasets — especially ones with vetted subscriber lists — can be cumbersome and expensive. Our team maintains the master file and processes new applicants requesting access to the data.

Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA)

Challenge

Manage data and subscribers. Prevent abuse and misuse of controlled substances.

Solution

The DEA maintains a list of people and organizations certified to handle controlled substances and chemicals used to produce over-the-counter drugs. Clinics, health insurance companies, HMOs, and pharmaceutical companies need to access that information regularly and quickly. Our team made that data available and manages its subscriber base.
