Abstract This document describes the federally-mandated review and update of the Fagatele Bay National Marine Sanctuary Management Plan, which includes a proposed expansion of the sanctuary to as many as five additional locations, as well as a suite of sanctuary-wide and location-specific regulations designed to enhance protection of sanctuary resources while limiting adverse impacts to the public. The proposed expansion would increase the size of the sanctuary from 0.25 square miles up to 14,376 square miles, with 94 to 99 percent of this increase consisting of the inclusion of the marine areas of the Rose Atoll Marine National Monument.
