Abstract The U.S. Economic Development Administration (EDA) Annual Report for Fiscal Year 2011. As the only government agency with economic development as its sole mission, EDA plays an important role in strengthening regional economies so that we can out-innovate, out-build, and out-compete the rest of the world. Building on the agencys 47-year history of supporting regionally-driven economic development strategies, in FY 2011 EDA focused on creating opportunities that encouraged regions to plan for their long-term stability, build on their unique assets, and create the conditions for the private sector to succeed and create jobs.
