Abstract
|
This report on Pennsylvania's most severe highway safety needs is based on State owned and Local Municipal owned roads. Pennsylvania now has the ability to geo-locate all crashes no matter if the crash occurs on a state or local road. PennDOT has a validation system in place that requires an analyst to look at any crash not having valid GIS coordinates. PennDOT is also working at updating historical crash data as time permits. This will allow the department to perform system-wide analysis of safety issues on all public roads (including locally owned and maintained roads) across the Commonwealth.
