Abstract
|
The National Cooperative Highway Research Program (NCHRP) is a unique contract research effort designed to respond to the practical needs of state departments of transportation (DOTs). Although the Transportation Research Board (TRB) administers the program, the state DOTs fund, select, and oversee the research. NCHRP is an applied research program, and every possible effort is made to help administrators and practitioners put the findings to early use in the form of policies, procedures, specifications, and standards.
