Abstract The Wall Ranger District uses a number of tools to address Boundary Management Zone (BMZ) issues in accordance with the 2005 prairie dog management amendment (USDA, Forest Service 2005a). Additionally, the Interior Management Zone (IMZ) prairie dog management amendment (USDA, Forest Service 2008) identified a minimum and maximum range of active prairie dog acres according to Geographic Area (GA). For the Wall Ranger District, this includes the Wall North and Wall Southeast GAs; there was no decision for Wall Southwest or for Management Area (MA) 3.63 (Black-footed ferret management emphasis). In this report, the District provides a detailed analysis of past and current BMZ management actions and IMZ monitoring results.
