Abstract
|
This project is investigating the potential for generating electrical power from the vibrations of a bridge due to large vehicles. It utilizes state-of-the-art technology and interdisciplinary expertise in solid-state electronics and bridge engineering to develop a system for providing electricity to power sensor networks, lighting, and other systems. The resulting technology will allow Oklahoma access to locally-generated power, minimizing vulnerability to disruptions in the power grid and contribute to the overall goal of sustainable infrastructure.
