Abstract
|
We conducted an inspection of four CBOCs during the weeks of March 12 and 19, 2012. We evaluated select activities to assess whether the CBOCs operated in a manner that provides veterans with consistent, safe, high-quality health care. The purposes of this review are to: Evaluate the extent CBOCs have implemented the management of DMLower Limb Peripheral Vascular Disease in order to prevent lower limb amputation; Evaluate whether CBOCs comply with selected VHA requirements regarding the provision of mammography services for women veterans; Evaluate the continuity of care for enrolled CBOC patients discharged from the parent facility in FY 2011 with a primary discharge diagnosis of HF; Determine whether CBOC providers are appropriately credentialed and privileged in accordance to VHA Handbook 1100.19; Determine whether CBOCs are in compliance with standards of operations according to VHA policy in the areas of environmental safety and emergency planning; and Determine whether primary care and MH services provided at contracted CBOCs are in compliance with the contract provisions and evaluate the effectiveness of contract oversight provided by the VA.
