The NTIS website and supporting ordering systems are undergoing a major upgrade from 8PM on September 25th through approximately October 6. During that time, much of the functionality, including subscription and product ordering, shipping, etc., will not be available. You may call NTIS at 1-800-553-6847 or (703) 605-6000 to place an order but you should expect delayed shipment. Please do NOT include credit card numbers in any email you might send NTIS.

Title Combined Linear and Nonlinear Radar: Waveform Generation and Capture.
Publication Date Apr 2013

Abstract A combined-radar transceiver is constructed which enables target ranging in both linear and nonlinear (harmonic) receive modes. The transceiver is constructed using an arbitrary waveform generator as the signal source, a high-speed digitizing oscilloscope as the signal capture device, and commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) components for the radar front-end. A length of Subminiature Version A (SMA) cable terminated in an open circuit simulates a linear radar target; the same cable terminated in an SMA-connectorized radio front-end simulates a nonlinear radar target. A graphical user interface is developed in MATLAB to control the transceiver remotely. Ranging to the target is demonstrated experimentally using radiofrequency pulses, linear chirps, and stepped-frequency waveforms.
