DEA- Retired Registrants from the Active CSA Registrants Database

NTIS is the authorized official distributor of the DEA CSA database on the Web.

NOTICE:  The DEA Record Layout has been revised.  The revised Record Layout includes:  (1) Five new Business Categories and Sub-Codes, and (2) The "Retired Date" column has been updated to reflect new dates as a result of the change in DEA policy that used to allow registrants up to 7 months after the expiration date to renew and still retain their original DEA number.  Effective April 1, 2009 this policy was changed to 30 days.

This database contains a list of certification numbers only that have been retired from the Active File within the last month or quarter.

The certification number enables physicians, related practitioners, other established health organizations, and others to prescribe and handle controlled substances.

If a number has been retired, that individual or business entity may no longer prescribe or handle these substances.
