This ICD-10 MS-DRG z/OS batch pilot software contains ICD-10 codes effective FY 2014. This software is intended to give users the opportunity to group claims using ICD-10-CM and ICD-10 PCS codes. It is not intended to be used to process claims as the ICD-10 code set will not be mandated for use until October 1, 2014.

Based on the feedback CMS receives, they will continue to make updates to the MS-DRGs. Please note that the FY 2015 (v32.0) ICD-10 MS-DRG will be developed through the FY 2015 rulemaking process.

This Medicare Code Editor (MCE) ICD-10 software pilot contains ICD-10 codes effective FY 2014. This software is intended to give users the opportunity to edit claims using ICD-10 CM and ICD-10 PCS codes. It is not intended to be used to process claims as the ICD-10 code set will not be mandated for use until October 1, 2014.

    The MCE release includes the following:

  • ICD-10 MCE Pilot v31.0 z/OS Batch software
  • ICD-10 MCE Pilot v31.0 Installation Manual
  • ICD-10 MCE Pilot v31.0 Definitions of Medicare Code Edits Users Manual

*Please note: This piloted version will edit claims with ICD-10 version 31 (10/01/2013 – 09/30/2014) and ICD-9 versions 30.0 – 2.0 based on the discharge date used.

This Medicare Severity (MS) Grouper with Medicare Code Editor (MCE) ICD-10 Pilot software contains ICD-9-CM codes effective October 2013 and ICD-10 codes published in 2013. This software is intended to give users the opportunity to group and edit claims using both ICD-9-CM codes, ICD-10-CM and ICD-10 PCS codes based on discharge date. This software is not intended to be used to process claims.

This piloted version contains all versions of ICD-9 (see "Program versions" on page 11) and the ICD-10 version 31.0 of the MS Grouper with MCE software. No grouping or editing will occur for claims prior to the valid date range for this component. If the discharge date is out of range for this component, ICD-10 version 31.0 will be used.
