The reporter panel contains the universe of all institutions that were expected to report HMDA data for a specified year.  The reporter panel includes the respondent identification number and agency code along with the name, city and state of the reporting institution.  In addition, it includes an institution's parent information (where available) and the Metropolitan Statistical Areas (MSAs) where an institution is considered to have home or branch offices.  Since the MSAs are included in the panel, the users can determine, along with the HMDA TS and LAR raw data, whether they are serving the needs of their communities and identify possible discriminatory lending practices.

This data can help identify institutions possible discriminatory lending patterns and assist regulatory agencies in enforcing compliance with anti-discrimination statutes.
